Review of Foundations for Practice

The book provides a comprehensive summary of models of practice and frames of reference relevant to Occupational Therapy, with a focus on evidence based practice. It is well-presented and follows a logical format with manageable chapters. Each model is presented to enable the reader to develop an understanding of its history, development, application and interpretation and concludes with a relevant case study to provide further clarity. The chapter on emerging models is particularly illuminating, offering a snapshot of the way different cultures approach Occupational Therapy interventions. The chapters on Frames of Reference are succinct and offer brief case studies to help the reader develop a deeper understanding of each step in the process. A very useful book for students, new graduates and those wishing to refresh their knowledge.
