Flash forward 12 years. We host an Internet video series in which we answer viewer-submitted questions, solving their problems with the help of an herbal remedy. Basically we get stoned and tell people how to live their lives. We give our two cents (or is that 420 sense?) on all of life's non-problems from party etiquette, problems in the workplace, what religion to be, to whether or not your boyfriend/girlfriend/parent/friend/teacher/pet is gay.

At this point, we want to get higher, and take things to the next level. We've already gotten inside people's heads-now we want to get in their pants. With an audiobook, pervert.

Entertaining

If you have watched Tracie and Rich's video series, Pot Psychology, you will enjoy the style of the writing and find the book to be entertaining. If you have not watched the video's I'd google them (or go to jezebel.com and search directly on there) watch a few if you find them funny you will like the book if you don't you will probably hate it. It's not the best book in the world by any means, I mean clearly they haven't written 2012's version of war and peace but if you have a long commute/flight or whatever it will help pass the time pretty quickly with a few giggles as well.

A window for young men into the dark mystery that is women

On the front cover is a quote from Jeff Foxworthy - you know, the "You might be a red neck..." guy. So I was a bit curious what direction this was going to take, and thankfully it went in a good direction. The book was an enjoyable light read, with a lot of good information. It isn't a religious book though it appears to have a solid Christian worldview, and is solid in most of what it says. It is written clearly, but in a language that today's teen guys will totally get. It connects well.

Instead of being a religious book looking at dating, this book sets out to be more informal, and more informational, providing a good look at what young women are looking for in young men. I couldn't' help but think that this book would have been useful to me when I was in its target market teenage range. It is wise without being condescending, educational without being preachy. It serves as a light for young men into the dark mystery that is women. While women will continue to confound young men after reading this book, it is a good first step to better understanding.

The areas the book covers are:
1. Why do girls pick the fancy boys over the average ones?
2. Why are good girls attracted to bad guys?
3. Why do girls seem so crazy sometimes?
4. Why do girls like you one day, and then want to break up the next?
5. What can guys do to better listen to girls?
6. What go girls really think about sex?

I found sections three and four to be the most interesting to me, but all were well thought out, well researched, well documented and clearly presented.

Great Book for Growing Young Men Who Relate Well with Women

This book is basically a book meant to teach older boys, teens, and young men how to interact with girls and women. It discusses what young women want, how to talk to them, how to interact with them, what they say, what they mean, how they feel.

Jeff, Eric and their wives have collaborated in whole or part to write For Women Only, For Men Only, For Parents Only and For Young Women Only. The writers admit they wrote For Young Men Only last because they were trying to avoid it altogether. They didn't think young men would ever pick up a book and read it to learn how to relate to young women. But, after receiving hundreds of requests, they relented. They did scientific studies of what young women think about various topics and published the most surprising the results. The best part of the study from my perspective was that the women sampled came from all backgrounds: different religions (or none at all), different racial, ethnic and cultural groups, different social classes, intellects, etc.

This was an excellent book and a real eye opener for me. I'm 37 years old and when I was young(er), I assumed no one else felt the way I did about what's attractive in a young man, communication styles, s*x, love, dating. What I learned from this book is not only was I not alone then, but the majority of young women NOW still feel the way I did. I thought differently (worse) of "the next generation".

This book is a great read for young men (ages 10-30, in my opinion), youth pastors, teachers, parents, basically anyone who interacts with young men. While I don't personally fit into that category, I am going to get For Women Only and might read For Men Only and point out relevant passages to my husband. To be honest, there were even a few items in the For Young Men Only book that I thought my husband would benefit from knowing!

A Girl's Review of the Book

I did a quick look over this book just to see what they are telling guys about us girls. I have to admit that all of this is true about us females, at least what I can see. In fact, I can't believe guys don't already know this stuff about girls! I'm like, "Really boys? You don't know this already? Thank god they have a book for your gender otherwise you would forever be in the dark about us." Girls are actually intelligent. Well, depends on the girl.

Also, just a tip for you guys out there, which is probably already in this book, is to actually pursue the girl! Most girls aren't confident enough to actually chase a guy, for a lot of guys can be quite heartless and then never let them live it down. Let me tell you one thing though, most girls are suckers for a sweet, mature, and funny guy that actually shows a little interest. Why do you think Twilight sells so many books?!? I know that I can't have one day without having one of my friends blab about some guy, especially the ones that are really great and show a small gesture. I know that I always appreciate a guy who shows an interest in me instead of me having to spend like three years to get him to break out of his shell. Also, it is so true how most girls really hope their guy doesn't push sex or does little hurtful jokes their way. It hurts their feelings at times, especially if they sort of like you.

I'd like to look it over more just to get some good laughs, but I'm not about to buy it because I'm a girl and I already know about me, lol. On the other hand, I'm probably going to read the version of this book for my own gender, and I recommend this book for guys!

Colorful, Fascinating Book For All Ages

I'll try not to make this sound like a school book report, but I learned so much from the author and there's so much to tell...

Chinese New Year celebrates the hopes for a good harvest and happiness in the coming year. It's also a time to honor deities and ancestors and to show gratitude for the past year. People will travel great distances to share food and traditions with family and friends.

The New Year's date changes each year because it is based on an ancient lunar calendar. Lasting 15 days, the last day is celebrated by a lantern festival.

This book is informative and fun for all ages and features gorgeous color photos. (Many of them are of yummy looking food, so have a snack handy.)

Also discussed are the Chinese zodiac animals and there is a handy wheel for discovering your own special animal. And now, an anecdote that is not important to Chinese New Year celebrations, but is possibly amusing. When my husband and I were dating, we were warned by a menu in a Chinese restaurant to STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM EACH OTHER, since I am an ox and he is a sheep. Every year on our anniversary, (23 of them, so far...) hubby looks at me, shakes his head and says, "Avoid the ox." I smile back and say, "Never the sheep."

2015 is the year of the goat (or sheep), and is as good a reason as any to rush to You-Tube and watch some screaming goat videos.

Well Written, Colorful and Seemingly Complete

I am a novice when it comes to the Chinese culture. I am now doing some business in China through the miracle of the Internet and Skype. My business affairs are going to be put on hold during the New Year observance. This book filled the bill quite nicely for me. I now know what is going on during the period of observance.

I found this book to be quite comprehensive. It spoke of the history of the holiday, the food, the activities, the beliefs and superstitions involved, as well. I am now familiar with some of the terminology both in the English form and also the Chinese form.

The color photos are strikingly beautiful.

I see the book is intended for kids. I would add that it is also useful to people like me who enjoy a well written overview of the topic complete with a lot of wonderful photos, paintings and sketches.

Simple, Clear, Educational Book

I don't think there's any better way to learn about a holiday than with pictures.

I came into this knowing practically nothing about it, myself, so this was a wonderful way for me to be introduced to a bunch of concepts, and to see those things "in action," as it were.

Not Enough Variety

I was looking forward to getting this DVD for Christmas as I own Art Models 2-4. But when it arrived I was rather disappointed. The resolution of the photos is very good--you can even see the subdermal capillaries and skin texture in the nude shots. The problem is that there is not enough variety in the poses. All the poses are standing. No prone poses, no bending poses, no sitting poses. Gravity affects flesh and this information you cannot get from these photos.

However, the quality of the photos is very high and I particularly liked the phoneme poses. The body detail poses I thought were superfluous although your mileage may vary.

If a greater variety of poses had been included I would have given this five stars.

Well organized and arranged, excellant photography

I own the previous editions of this series and find them very helpful when I don't have time get to a Life Drawing class. The selection of body types, ethnicity, skin tone and coloration in addition to a wide choice of gesture poses, particularly online, has helped me improve my drawing skills more rapidly than I would otherwise have done.
The photography and lighting are professional and varied.
I would recommend the Art Models series as a good adjunct to life drawing.

Art School All Over Again

I love the Art Models series books and DVDs. Their Becca series reminded me a lot of the life drawing sessions in art school. It had many well lit poses and some of the poses involved articles of clothing: A major plus for any fashion illustrator. I was really happy to purchase this because it really sharpened my skills when I'm illustrating fashion. So, if you loved art school and need to brush up on your life drawing skills, purchase this one and others like it to really get an edge on the market. The Art Models Series books are a marvelous way to get back in touch with drawing the human form.

It works by inactivating Her-2/neu--a protein that makes cancer cells grow especially quickly-- produced by a gene found in 25 to 30 percent of all breast tumors. Herceptin caused some patients' cancers to disappear completely; in others, it slowed the progression of the disease and gave the women months or years they wouldn't otherwise have had. Gaining approval, however, required the tireless work of a committed few who refused to let the bureaucracy deter them. Bazell's account is both troubling and hopeful.

Well, written, for the most part

The book was well-written and interesting for the most part, but I think its conclusions misrepresent the contribution of Herceptin to the battle against breast cancer. Post-marketing studies have shown that Herceptin is not the wonder drug it was hoped to be. The book downplays the cardiac side-effects which are both more common and more serious than Bazell lets on. Nothing has changed in the battle against cancer. Despite the entry of this new weapon into the arsenal of oncologists, the quest to defeat cancer is still (to mix my metaphors) more like sticking boards in the sand to hold back the tide than building a sea wall.

A must read for anyone fighting breast cancer

I wish I had read this book last year. I ordered while my sister was being treated with Herceptin for a recurrence of breast cancer. Unfortunately, she died before I could get the book.
This book give real insight into the politics of cancer treatment - the passiveness of some oncologists, how an executive's own personal experience with a disease can determine if drug development will go forward or not, and how women are becoming more aggressive in monitoring their own treatment.
Bazell talks about the frustrations of critically ill and dying women in trying to work through the medical, academic and managed care maze to get the treatment they need.
This drug has been the 'magic bullet' for many women. It has been called the start of a new era is disease treatment. It is essential for anyone involved in this disease to read this book, to understand what they are up against and how they can help themselves.

Elliott O'Donnell (February 27, 1872 - May 8, 1965) was an Irish author known primarily for his books about ghosts. He claimed to have seen a ghost, described as an elemental figured covered with spots, when he was five years old. He also claimed to have been strangled by a mysterious phantom in Dublin.

Good book but...

This is a good book but when I reached the end of it, it just cut off. The three men who made up the company were just real *shuders*....so I could care less about what actually happened to them, but it would've been nice to learn the fate of Gladis and the poor artist who was smitten with her. I dont know if this was the way the book just ended or if there is some error in the text but it sure left me hanging! Beware of some serious racial slurs throughout the book, but all in all it was a good read. I Love Lovecraft though and belive he could've done a better job. I wonder who influenced who?

Turn of the last Century Occult Thriller

If you can get past the casual racism, anti-Semitism, turn of the last century British snobbery, shallow character development, and over simple storytelling this turns out to be an amusing quick read about three cads who obtain mysterious occult powers from a sinister force from Atlantis.
