Jenny Blake is a career and business strategist and international speaker who helps people move beyond burnout and create sustainable careers they love. She left her job in career development at Google in 2011 after five and a half years at the company to launch her first book, Life After College, and has since run her own consulting business in New York City.

This is a book I've been waiting for for months, well - years really.
In the world where 'pivot is the new normal' with job uncertainty and dissatisfaction, we all need to constantly scan ourselves and our environment for opportunities to pivot - or get pivoted. The author gives us a clear and easy-to-follow 4-stage process for career change: Plant - Scan - Pilot - Launch. The framework is logical, well researched and well-explained. It's accompanied by practical exercises and templates and other tools to help readers through the process.
It's not your usual 'quit today, sit on the beach in Thailand tomorrow' type of book. The author promotes a well-thought out and researched approach, emphasising 'shifting naturally' and a continuous process rather than a radical step.
It's well-written, practical, thoughtful and thorough. A must-read for those considering a career change, at any stage in their lives!

This book is a must-have for anyone looking to make a change in life, but even more so, a change in their career. One thing I hear over and over again from corporate employees, specifically my millennial colleagues, is the fear of trying something new or picking the 'wrong' path. Pivot lays out the perfect framework for navigating uncertainty while setting up a life and career flexible enough to continuously withstand change.
