About the Author
LaKeita was born and raised in Nashville, Tn. At 34 years old she is a proud mother of four beautiful girls. She has written and self-published two books of a three book series titled Codes of the Streetz 1 &2. Although she didn’t like to write she always found herself writing a lot. LaKeita started off writing poems for her mom when she was in trouble. The passion for writing grew into writing her own TV shows. Picking up her first urban novel at the age of 24, she began falling in love with the book world. Today Lakeita is currently working on her three book series Taste Like Kandi under Blaque Diamond Publications.

Awesome Reading!!!

This book was very fast-paced...with a new spin on urban Sass....I loved Kandi's character! She was top of the line in class and beauty...like a "BOSS" is portrayed on Urban Streets. I can't wait for the next book to pick up with Jamal's dad prison release....I gave Taste Like Kandi 4 stars because it kept me reading and anticipating what was going to happen next but I am a grammar and mechanics type of reader and it slowed me down from enjoying the story line from time to time. Keita B go hard on the sequel...I can't wait to read it!

this is the first story I read by this author and it was pretty good. kandi couldn't win for losing but she shows how the streets can really change a person. I can wait to read part 2 job well done and just so you know THIS IS NOT A LOVE STORY!!!

Very great book, lil mama Candy was about her bizness FLAT! She ain't take s*** from NOBODY, that girl was built to survive- that's a true BOSS bitch! Smh, poor Meegan. I loved Jamal and Candy's relationship- their loyalty was EVERYTHING! Hmm, Dion and Roni would be cute, don't you think Ms. Keita? Lol. Sheena is definitely an ungrateful bitch, but what goes around comes around, I hope all is well with my boy Todd. Joe ass got what he deserved! He underestimated the Queen. Uh-oh the OG Daryl is out?!?! I'm ready for PART 2 (please don't keep us waiting long)!!!!!
